Private Lessons
Training is explaining and demonstration.
Demonstration Dogs A 7 year old Golden Retriever (Lee) and or a 2 year old German
Shepherd (Callie) are used as a demonstration dog to show and explain the exercises you
will learn in private training or a group class.
Verbal commands and hand signals are introduced, explained and demonstrated. Behavior
issues addressed may include common behavior problems and control in puppies and adult
dogs.
Behaviors may include: jumping, pulling, lagging, pawing, mouthing, biting, nipping,
excessive barking, howling, digging, housebreaking, bolting out the door, running away.
Proper training collar placement and leash handling and control is explained. It should be
noted that I do not use prong collars, chain collars, or electronic collars.
I use a well fitted leather buckle collar and leather leashes and light lines of various lengths
and design. They will be explained during your training.

- Various training leashes, collars and training aids with an explanation of how each is
used in dog training.
- On leash and off leash control at various distance is explained how the dog is trained
to achieve control. Each exercise is broken down and demonstrated by a trained dog.
- Basic obedience training for the home is introduced.
- Each exercise is explained and shown using a trained demonstration dog.
- Verbal commands and hand signals are explained and shown.

- Stationary training techniques
- Sit and sit stay
- Stand and stand stay
- Down and down stay
- Heel on a loose leash
- Come (recall) on first command.
PRIVATE IN-HOME TRAINING LESSONS. Choose from the following:
- Training for the home. Puppy, adult basic and advanced. Control, handling, and
behavior.
- American Kennel Club obedience competition training in novice, open, and utility.
- American Kennel Club breed competition (conformation) training
- American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification
Private lessons may be a pre-designed training program or the lessons may be
created based upon the dog owners individual needs and requirements.
